Stay with us

In the past few weeks there have been misleading reports and headlines in the press that could have lead to the impression that CCRS was closing. This is not the case. A decision has been made by the Trustees for the Society to cease recruiting and assessing adoptive applicants for reasons outlined in the Bishop’s recent press statement.

The good news is that all other CCRS services including Fostering, Post Adoption, Residential Care, Family Support, Supported Accommodation (mother and baby homes), respite care for children with disabilities will continue and we are looking at new ways in which we can provide services to vulnerable children. And if you are interested in adoption anyway you can still contact us while we transfer this particular service to another like minded agency.

Our commitment to our mission to help children to reach their full physical and emotional potential is as strong as ever.

To our traditional supporters we say “stay with us” and we invite new supporters, donors and volunteers to find out more about what we do and join us in our mission.

Welcome to our website!

little girl with teddyCCRS is a faith-based charity providing professional social care services to children and families of all faiths and of none. We were established in 1886 and have decades of experience of working for and on behalf of children.

As the year progresses, the Society can look forward to many exciting opportunities as well as the inevitable challenges. Whatever work is accomplished there is always more to do because the need for our services never diminishes, our foster placements and Supporting People units, our Children’s Homes are in great demand while the caseloads of the Family Support team grows ever heaver and we have a lengthy number of adoptive parents awaiting assessment.

This is the work we were founded for, improving the lives of children and their families is our mission and we will continue to do it to the best of our ability.

The site provides information about our services and our commitment to protect and support children and families in the North West, especially those who are marginalised and isolated. We do hope you will find our website informative and would welcome your comments...
