Residential Services
The Society’s residential home is located in south Manchester and provides care for five children and young people between the ages of 8 and 17 years. The home has an overall quality rating of ‘Good’ (February 2009) and is registered with and inspected by Ofsted.
In accordance with each child’s Care Plan, we will be working towards either a return to their family or a move to an alternative family. With older children, the plan may be that they are helped towards independence if a return to their family is not possible.
The day-to-day emphasis is on providing safe, positive, daily experiences and ensuring that all the children’s needs are met.
Residential staff are selected with care, trained and supported to provide children and young people with positive experiences and opportunities. Their responsibilities also extend to helping young people make sense of their past, help with their concerns at the present and lastly, as with all good parents, equip them as fully as possible for their journey to the future.
