Charity Shop Week: 21 - 25 April 2008
Maryvale Supported Accommodation Unit based in Blackburn provides accommodation to homeless young women and their babies who, due to reasons of family disruption, loss, or domestic violence, cannot live with their families. The young women are given a safe and secure environment in which to bring up their children and are helped to work towards independent living via education, training and assistance to gain employment and housing.
During the week of 21 - 25 April 2008 the staff and service users of Maryvale are taking over the running of a Local Authority owned charity shop at 37 Penny Street, Blackburn where they will be selling goods to enable them to raise funds for their annual summer holiday.
The shop will be open from 9.30 am - 4.00 pm each day.
Donations of clothing, bric-a-brac, books, etc., that could be sold in the shop would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to make a donation, please take items to Maryvale, 8-10 Rydal Road, Blackburn by Friday 18 April 2008.
