NEW WEBSITE FOR LOCAL CHILDRENS CHARITY

The Catholic Children’s Rescue Society (CCRS) of Didsbury, one of the longest established social welfare organisations in the North West has recently launched their new website www.ccrsorg.co.uk.

Kathy Batt, Director of the Society says “the website has taken months of planning and is a huge improvement on our existing site. It provides information about all our services and our on-going commitment to protect and support children and families in the North West, especially those who are often marginalised and isolated.”

The new website is aimed at a wide audience from prospective parents seeking to adopt, individuals wanting to trace their birth relatives, provides information to young mothers about our supported accommodation, outlines our social work services to help prevent family breakdown and details our respite services for children with disabilities.

The site will also be critical for the on-going recruitment of foster carers in the region. “Not having enough foster carers has huge implications for local authorities and children who need a placement. A shortage of carers is also likely to increase the chances of a child leaving an area in which they currently live and also increases the chances of them having to move school, making it more difficult for them to keep in contact with their family and friends” says Rosaleen Griffin, Head of Adoption, Fostering and Post Adoption Services.

In the North West alone there are approx 1,700 children and young people in need of a foster placement (ref the 2004 Fostering Network study) so if there are families out there that can offer a child/children a temporary or longer-term home please contact us.

Ring 0161 445 7741 and ask for a member of the Fostering Team.
